This is too small for me. Do you have a bigger one?
zhè gè tài xiǎo lè , yǒu dà diǎn de má
这 个 太 小 了,有 大 点 的 吗?

too--tài 太
small----xiǎo 小
big-----dà 大

大 and 太 are so similar .

do you know this character "天"?

you are right ,Grace.
I think chinese and english own different thinking ways.
I could take an instance.
when you want to express some ideas ,you may say directly, but according to chinese habits,we will state something (maybe concerning the topic maybe not) first.

“天” means sky.
“大”means big.
“太”means so much .

haha

perhaps chinese is the hardest language to learn.
it shows its meaning by horizontal and perpendicular lines, which is the biggest difference among the others.

from 天 大 太,you can see directly,just a little disparity,but totally having nothing with each others .

from chinese viewpoint

How are you represents two meaning
the first is "hello",
nǐ hǎo
你 好

the second is "how do you feel recently?"
zuì jìn zěn mè yàng
最 近 怎 么 样?

which one do you prefer?
